Introduction

Module Objective:

The objective of this module is to identify and characterize fundamental properties of polymers, and recognize the impact polymers have on our world today.

• Addition and condensation polymerization
• Common plastics and their applications
• Thermoset and thermoplastic
• Crystalline and amorphous plastics
• Production of polymers

Some familiarity with the following concepts would be helpful in understanding the information in this module.
